Appointment by Request
Publish a slot without a price, read what each client wants to book, and pick the project you want to take on.
Appointment by request
Some work needs a conversation before it needs a calendar.
For anything you want to see before you agree to it or put a price on it. Publish a slot with no price, let clients describe what they want, ask anything you need to, and choose the one you want to take on. Only then do you set the price.
- Reference images stay private between you and the client who sent them
- Clients pay nothing to request, and a request books none of your time
- Deposits stay capped at £100, and you set the amount after you choose
- If a booking falls through before the start, your slot can reopen
-
1
Publish a request slot
Fix the date, time, duration, service, and location, and write a prompt telling clients what to describe. No price, no deposit, no commitment yet. It shows on your public profile as Appointment by request.
-
2
Clients tell you what they want
Each client writes a description and can attach up to five reference images, visible only to you. They can see their own request and nothing about anyone else's.
-
3
Ask, set aside, decide
Ask a follow-up question in a private thread on the request, set aside the ones that aren't a fit, and change your mind if you want to. Everyone stays informed without you writing a single message elsewhere.

Price it, then book it
Choosing a request opens the appointment form with the schedule already filled in. Add your total and deposit, and the client gets an ordinary booking to pay for — with the same reminders, cancellation rules, and refunds as every other appointment on Appointly.
Why Appointly
Less admin between a client wanting a slot and you getting paid.
What you get
Publish availability, take appointments by request, create appointments, collect deposits, manage contacts, and reduce no-shows from one control panel.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Appointly free to use?
Registration is free, and your clients never pay a platform fee. You can work pay-as-you-go, or subscribe to cut your transaction fees.
How do deposits work?
Appointly holds the deposit securely until the appointment is resolved. If it goes ahead, or your client cancels late, the funds become yours. If you cancel, or your client cancels early, they are refunded in full.
What happens when a client cancels?
You set the cancellation window — 24 hours by default. If they cancel outside it, they are refunded in full; inside it, the deposit becomes yours. If you are the one cancelling, your client is always refunded immediately.
Can I run group sessions?
Yes. Create a session with multiple spaces and let clients book into the available capacity.
What is "Appointment by request"?
A slot you publish without a price. Instead of booking it, clients describe the work they want and attach reference images, and you choose one of them. Only the client you choose gets an appointment, and you set the price and deposit at that point.
Do clients pay to send a request?
No. Requesting takes no payment and books none of your time. If you choose a request, that client sees your final price and deposit and decides whether to pay. They need a free, verified Appointly account to send one.
